  • Gidget Schutte, CPA

    Gidget Schutte brings to Schutte & Hilgendorf over 25 years of experience as a CPA. She started her career at the international firm Deloitte & Touche where she was an auditor for 4 years in Orange County and San Francisco, obtaining her CPA certificate in 1992. For the next nine years in the San Francisco area, she worked in various accounting and financial management positions at public and pre-IPO companies in the medical distribution, software and high-tech industries. Wanting to be closer to family, she moved to Prescott on 9/11/01 (yes THE day) and started her own family. Mackenzie is now 15 and Slater is 13. No stranger to Prescott, Gidget’s family had a vacation home in Prescott since 1979 where they escaped the heat of Blythe, California. Gidget graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Business Economics with Honors. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, and the Arizona Society of CPAs. She served on the Board of the Prescott Area Habitat for Humanity as Treasurer in 2001-2002. Now her extra-curricular activities include being a taxi service for her kids, hiking, crossfit, cooking and RVing.

  • Adam Rutherford, CPA

    Adam started with Schutte & Hilgendorf in 2009. After graduating from Northern Arizona University with a BA in Accountancy in 2005, he moved back to Prescott and received his CPA license in 2008. Adam has experience in bookkeeping, accounting, auditing and tax preparation and is currently the Tax Director. A native of Prescott, Adam is married to wife Mary Ann and live with their son, Jacob, in Prescott Valley. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Arizona Society of CPAs, Prescott Area Young Professionals, and is the treasurer for several organizations, including Central Arizona Partnership. Adam enjoys riding his bike, traveling, watching movies, and going to Disneyland as often as possible.

  • Ryan Bowling, CPA

    Ryan joined Schutte & Hilgendorf in 2012 after relocating to Prescott from Page, Arizona. He graduated from Upper Iowa University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and earned his CPA license in 2015. Ryan was hired in 2012 to assist with all areas of accounting, tax and audit engagements. He has since decided to focus on auditing and is currently one of our lead auditors. Ryan lives in Prescott Valley with his wife, Alisha, a pharmacist at YRMC, and their sons Ronin and Quinn. When not auditing, Ryan enjoys watching movies, playing and watching baseball, working with leather, hiking and biking with his family, golfing, and re-living childhood with his boys.

  • Tiffany Fisher

    Tiffany Fisher, a fifth-generation Arizona native, has been in the accounting industry since 1988. After graduating from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, she and her husband relocated to the southeast for many years. During that time she operated her own accounting business to allow her to spend time with her young children, one of whom is quite spirited and has special-needs. The family returned to Arizona in 2007 and Tiffany began working for a CPA firm in Mesa, Arizona. She comes to Schutte & Hilgendorf after surviving breast cancer and relocating to Prescott in 2015. She is currently pursuing her CPA certification. In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her husband, Rick, and two children, Laura Beth and Susan. She also enjoys cooking, gardening and hiking.

  • Kimala Christopherson, E.A.

    Kimala is an Enrolled Agent and Certified Quickbooks Pro Advisor. She joined Schutte & Hilgendorf, PLLC because she was impressed by the integrity and professionalism of the team and the flawless reputation of the firm. Kimala has over 30 years of experience in the accounting and tax industry, and a genuine desire to produce the best possible results for her clients. Kimala is studying at American Public University pursuing her CPA certification. She is an Arizona native who moved to Prescott in 1997 from Crown King, Arizona. When she has free time, she loves cooking, reading, skiing, golf, bowling, and watching sports of all kinds. She particularly loves watching her twin teenagers play softball and baseball and all her grandchildren who play volleyball and various other sports.

  • Katie Dilegame

    Katie has been an Arizona resident for the past 25 years. She joined Schutte & Hilgendorf as an Administrative Assistant and has recently attained her bachelors degree at Northern Arizona University. Katie’s previous experience revolved around customer service and she is excited to be a part of the Schutte and Hilgendorf team. Currently she lives in Prescott with her son Keegan and enjoys spending time with him, going to the movies, and attending different events around Prescott.

  • Lois Hilgendorf, CPA

    Lois Hilgendorf’s experience includes several years of bookkeeping and accounting with both regional and local firms prior to obtaining her CPA certificate in 1994. She worked for the predecessor firm, Lambson & Rader for over 20 years and finished her college education and obtained CPA status during that time. Lois also has extensive experience in auditing and tax preparation of non-profit firms and homeowner associations and is the partner in charge of the firms tax practice - covering business and individuals. Lois and her husband, Bruce and three children moved to Prescott from Minnesota in 1977. They now have 6 grandchildren spread between Arizona and California. Lois is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Arizona Society of CPAs, and the Prescott Estate Planning Council. She has served on the Board of Prescott People Who Care as treasurer and is currently on the finance committee of the newly formed PUSD Educational Foundation. In her spare time, Lois enjoys traveling to visit family and friends, reading, and spending time at any ocean beach.

  • Janet Sandberg, CPA

    Janet recently moved to Prescott from Denver, Colorado where she was born and raised. She has over 35 years of tax experience. Her tax career began with Coopers & Lybrand, which included a year working in the National Tax Office in Washington, D.C. After 8 years at Coopers & Lybrand, she left public accounting to work for a large publicly-traded corporation where she specialized in IRS controversies, corporate reorganizations, inventory issues and tax planning. After a number of years in industry, Janet returned to public accounting where she now specializes in individual taxation, trusts, partnerships, S corporations, manufacturing and service businesses. Janet graduated from the University of Denver with both a BSBA degree in accounting and masters in taxation. She is a CPA in both Colorado and Arizona. She enjoys running, hiking, cycling and reading. Janet is currently helping us seasonally during the busy tax season.

  • Ann Flanagan

    Ann joined Shutte & Hilgendorf in 2017 after moving from Houston, Texas, to the Prescott area. She earned a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Houston C.T. Bauer College of Business in 2011, and received her CPA license in 2013. Ann brings with her 6 years of audit experience with corporate, not-for-profit, and governmental entities. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, and the Arizona Society of CPAs. She enjoys playing music and working number puzzles with her husband, Caleb, sewing with her mom, Marty, making soap and bath products, reading, and taking care of/playing with her four-footed children.

  • Inek Contreras

    Inek just recently joined Schutte & HIlgendorf in 2018. He is honored and grateful to be apart of such a great team and is looking forward to learn and grow as an accountant. He is currently working on several accounting and tax certificates at Yavapai College and is soon to transfer to a University to continue his accounting and tax education. He has high ambitions to be a successful accountant and is always excited to accept then conquer a challenge. In his free time Inek enjoys playing bass guitar for his local band, assisting in running a friend owned retail company, working on his fixer upper and most importantly spending time with his wife and daughter traveling, sightseeing and going to as many zoo’s as possible.

  • Rachel Smith

    Rachel just recently joined Schutte and Hilgendorf. She is an Arizona native and grew up in Prescott. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Northern Arizona University in 2002 with the intention of being in upper management in the banking industry. In 2003 she married her husband, Kevin, and then as they say, life happened. She is the proud mom of her son Ryan and daughter Kori. She returned to the banking industry work force in 2011 and discovered it was not what she was called to do. In 2013 she went to work for a locally owned bookkeeping company and found it was her calling. This past year she decided she wanted to advance her knowledge of the accounting industry and chose to join our team. She is currently looking into pursuing her Masters in Accountancy. In her spare time, she likes to watch her children in the various sports they do, read, hike and go hunting with her family.
